This cider is for the adventurous. Spanish cider is known for its funk. Southern Spain is known for the Sherry triangle. We took the spirit of both to make this unique bottled cider. Nutty, raisin character with a citrusy finish.
Why make something so unusual? Our co-owner, Elle Correll, lived in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain as an exchange student and fell in love with sherry. Since the beginning of Buskey she's been asking (scheming!) to get a sherry barrel and put cider in it. In December 2019, we got access to some Pedro Domecq Oloroso barrels and started aging a premium blend of Virginia apples in it.
This cider is made with a premium blend of apples (Ashmead's Kernel, Black Twig, and Winesap) aged in Oloroso Sherry barrels from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain for 9 months and conditioned in the bottle for a year.
100% Virginia apples. No added sugar. Gluten free.
